Find It Fit lists 389 places in Nuremberg (Germany): 218 restaurants, 76 cafés and 95 food shops. Of the restaurants and cafés, 142 are vegan, 54 have the menu analysed dish by dish (2,533 different dishes) and 30 have the price worked out from their menu. This guide picks the 15 whose menu offers the most, for anyone who eats nothing of animal origin.
How we choose
- Nobody pays to be listed. Not to appear and not for the order. How we decide which places get in.
- What the menu says comes first. For someone who eats vegan the best is a 100 % plant-based place: no hidden stocks, butter, egg in the pasta or fish sauce, and no frying in the same oil as meat (The Vegan Society). Otherwise, main dishes marked or unmistakably vegan, not sides. A menu scores if the whole place is vegan (45), for each vegan main (4, up to 32), for each different protein source such as tofu, tempeh, seitan, heura or legumes (3, up to 9), and for vegan desserts (5), plant milks (4) and dishes marked on the menu (5). Each place gets a score from 0 to 100 and the list follows that order; under each one you will see why, and the dishes that justify it.
